Sara Heaton
Soprano

Ms. Heaton’s 2008/2009 season includes her company debut with Boston Lyric Opera where she appeared as the 2nd Wood Sprite in Rusalka. Also this season, she will sing the role of Esmeralda in The Bartered Bride with Opera Boston. She has appeared frequently with Boston Baroque, as Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, and as a featured soloist in Purcell’s King Arthur. Other career highlights include Adèle in Die Fledermaus (Opera Providence); Musetta in Puccini’s La Bohème (Boston University); Madeline/Isabel in Mollicone’s Face on the Barroom Floor (Central City Opera); First Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (Central City Opera); and Second Woman in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (The Rome Festival).

In 2008, Ms. Heaton was an Apprentice Artist with Central City Opera, where she was awarded the Shoshana Foundation’s Richard F. Gold Career Grant for promising young singers. She was a New England regional finalist in the 2008 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Ms. Heaton holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania and an MM in vocal performance from Boston University.
